The Lord Provost’s Cup was once again staged at the Town House. http://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/ACCI/web/site/Councillors/CivicSupport/cde_townhousetours.asp Aberdeen Lord Provost Peter Stephen conducted the opening ceremony in front of 70 pupils, parents and teachers, and returned from his busy schedule to watch the closing stages of the tournament. He then chatted with the players and spectators before presenting prizes to the leading contestants and awarding the annual cups to the winners. The Primary section produced a surprise result, with Callum Strachan of Tullos Primary School producing his best ever performance to win the Primary Schools event in runaway style. Runner-up was Scottish International player Ian McDonald (Gilcomstoun Primary). The Secondary Section was a much closer affair. Maryann McDonald (Aberdeen Grammar) won first prize after a play-off with Cedie Herrera (Torry Academy).
