Boys Championship prize winners

For the second year running, a play-off was needed to decide the winner of the Aberdeen Chess Academy Boys Championship. Last years champion, Daniel Maxwell (St Machar Academy) and Ian McDonald (Gilcomstoun Primary) had both scored 4½ out of 5 in the tournament. The five-minute play-off was pretty even until Ian, who had fallen behind on time, made a rash move which cost him a rook, and ultimately, the game. Ross Milner (Cults Primary) finished third.
