S.J.C. Primary Team Heats: Aberdeen Results

The Aberdeen heats of the Scottish Junior Chess Primary Teams Championships took place at Northfield Academy on Saturday 1st December.

There were two sections, the Primary Teams and the P5 and under Teams.

Quarryhill won the Primary heat, just ahead of Tullos, and now qualify for the final in April. Although Quarryhill deservedly won the heat, it was a gritty performance by Tullos who were one player short and therefore defaulted board 4 in each match played.

Smithfield were worthy winners of the P5 Teams, winning all their matches. Runners-up Muirfield came a close second, only losing to Smithfield, and by the narrowest of margins, 2½ - 1½. Muirfield are likely to qualify for the finals along with Smithfield.
