ABERDEEN CHESS ACADEMY SCHOOLS CHESS LEAGUE DIVISIONS 1/2/3: Sponsored by BG GROUP
Aberdeen Schools Chess League 2007-08 starts on Saturday 17th November. This event is open to pupils from Aberdeen City Schools and surrounding areas. All standards of play are catered for. Players will be placed in league division 1, 2, or 3, depending on age, experience, and known standard of play. In general, players new (or fairly new) to tournament chess will be placed in division 3. More experienced players i.e. those who have played for about 1-2 years and have some tournament experience will play in division 2. Secondary players and the most experienced primary players compete in division 1. BG Group has generously sponsored the league. There are magnificent annual cups for the winners of each division, which are displayed in the schools of the winners for one year, and keepsake trophies for the top six players in each division.
