Assistant Teachers Chess Course (Part 2)

The first part of an in-service chess course to ‘teach the teachers’ took place in April, but due to problems in finding a suitable date, the second part was delayed until November. There was again a healthy turnout, with 12 members of staff taking part, including 4 new starts.

Most participants said that the gap between sessions was much too long, and that they were keen to undertake additional coaching sessions at regular intervals, until they had been reached a level that would enable them to run small group or one-to-one chess sessions in school.
