The first annual Aberdeen Chess Academy Boys Championship and Girls Championship takes place on Saturday March 18 at Northfield Academy.

The events will be of 6 rounds. All competitors play in each round: no one is knocked out of the competitions.

The Boys Champion and Girls Champion will each be presented with a magnificent annual cup, to be kept in their school trophy cabinet for one year. Both players will also be presented with keepsake trophies. Additional prizes will be awarded to the runners-up and third place finishers in both events, and to the best placed players outside the top three in the following categories: P2; P3; P4; P5; P6; P7; Secondary.
